The Ugly House, Betws-y-Coed / Capel-Curig, North Wales
The Ugly House (Ty Hyll), Betws-y-Coed. Local legend is that the house was built over night by two outlaw brothers. Under ancient law anyone who built a house overnight could claim a freehold as long as it had walls, a roof and smoking chimney.
